A friend nominated me for these awards and because my track record has never been successful with awards, I was reluctant to enter and was not really interested.
It wasn’t until a fellow woman entrepreneur and friend entered a pageant overseas and as I was following her journey, she inspired me to enter the PBT Awards because I love how she was promoting women empowerment and how it wasn’t really about the outcome but the journey and other woman who you could potentially inspire along the way. Btw – She did end up winning the pageant.
So, with all my self-doubts and the fear, I put myself out there and submitted my application.
I was really fortunate to come out as the winner of this category however as I said in my speech, all the women in this category were winners and we would continue to win as pacific women in business.
Thank you Pacific Business Trust for acknowledging Pacific businesses and thank you for also supporting my business journey.
Thank you Tataki Auckland Unlimited for sponsoring this category.
Thank you to my staff, extended family, friends, acquaintances, the fashion and the business communities for the support, love and experiences both good and bad, as there’s always something that can be learnt from it.
Lastly, to my husband Conroy and daughters Kirin and Laurel, thank you for your patience and for the sacrifices you continue to make as I build the business. I can’t do it without you.
